Hey Guys!. Long time no see right? this is Pranitha, and today I’ll be telling you about my journey teaching others what I’ve learned!.

How I started

I had started learning to code when COVID-19 Virus Lockdown in my place. Since my father and sister were coders and they knew how to code in many languages, it was easy for me since they were always around to help if I went wrong anywhere.

In the beginning, I didn’t take the fact that I had to try and figure it out myself, or else it’s all useless seriously. So, refused when I came for every tiny problem, and with that, I learned that I had to take it seriously, or it’s of no use.
I started with simple Javascript() on a website I had already done so many things in. It was easy at first and, it gradually becomes hard as I progressed. When I solved something, it’s like a booster to do better and not give up. But, when I encounter difficulties in solving a problem, the booster level goes down. I could only be cheered up again if I get to solve 4 to 5 puzzles in a row at the first attempt!.

I learned Javascript() until I came to Objects(). Then I found this website called code.org, in which you can learn to code in blocks. I started the courses there and got the hang of things there quite easily. I still want to figure out how I got things extremely easily, while the others took time and, it was quite shocking and unexpected for me!.

Even there, I did the same of the booster level fact!. I couldn’t believe it when I calculated the amount of time I took to finish one gigantic course!. I had taken 6 months!!, with a few breaks as I couldn’t boost myself :(. I had concentrated on other things too when I was doing my first gigantic course and, the name was, Express Course 2020.

I am an artist. I like patterns and, I’ve done so many in code.org. My patterns are of simple shapes like squares, triangles, circles, etc. Most of the time, it used to be like, I wanted to do something but, in the end, something else happens!!. I then discovered that you could also publish your projects to the public gallery. I did that for most of my artist(patterns) projects.

When the foundation was done…

Enough of learning, what about creating? I had finished completing the last main course of code.org and, I found out about this App Lab tutorial course. The thought that struck me that time was when the first time I had seen an app created by my friend in code.org; It looked so complicated just with the blocks and if I imagine myself seeing the code instead I would’ve been shocked when I see complicated and beautiful things the first time, I would only worry about how hard it would be to accomplish the same task myself!!

So, I decided to take the App Lab tutorial course in code.org because it looked interesting and challenging!. After I finished, I had many great ideas in mind after finishing the tutorial on code.org! I had some inspiration from my sister’s first website. My ideas had dug through so much that I didn’t even know how to do it!. My sister was pretty happy that I had such a big idea in mind and appreciated it a lot, of course, I needed help from the advanced coder, my sister ;).

It did take a lot of time for me to learn and type the code again without seeing but, I felt it was worth the time used to make this app. By the way, this app was actually created for my family, so there was no use publishing this on the code.org website.

I had also written a blog on that! check it out by clicking the link below-

That’s it for Part-1 guys!. See you next time.
