Hey guys, today I’m going to share my first experience of the lock-down. Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Pranitha. The pandemic has locked us all at home, we aren’t able to go to school, meet friends, attend summer camps, etc. We are all bored of sitting at home and doing nothing.

The lock-down started with a Janta Curfew on Sunday, 22nd March. That was the first day I sat at home without any fun, usually on holidays, I used to visit my granny’s house but this time, I had to sit at home doing nothing ;(.

My school had to begin in May but the lock-down had started before that and there were no chances that my school would start in May. So, in the beginning, I started drawing cartoon characters with my sister, then I started my singing classes which had stopped because of the current situation.

Gradually, my dance class started giving us assignments to do, we had to record the bit and send it to them in our broadcast group. Then some parents started requesting them to start online classes but all in vain ;( , they sent a long message saying there will be a lag in the audio, delay in the video, internet issues etc. So, only assignments no classes ;p.

Then came my school, they created a broadcast group and added all the parents and enabled the ‘only admins can send messages’. They had issued our books already during the vacation. This was the first year in which my best friend and I were in different sections ;(. I was sad as she was a very good friend indeed ;), which made me happy in school.

We both had opted the same 2nd language(Kannada) in school and used to sit together and chitchat in our language(Kannada). In free periods, if the teacher let us sit with our friends, we would be the first ones to ask and change places ;p.

In the broadcast group, they texted a long message saying they had decided to start online classes for us. Yippee!!, I love school, whether it is online or offline ;p. So, I was excited for the next day but all in a disaster ;( , I couldn’t wake up that morning ;p but I managed to and attended the classes.

The third day of online classes, at night they cancelled the online classes as someone in the government said ‘No’ ;( ;(, so, I was sad as I loved school ;p. Now, the boring lock-down starts again ;( but it didn’t turn out to be so boring!! It was fun and this was what I did!!.

After a few weeks, I went to my granny’s house for the first time in the lock-down!!. Hooray!!, I was so happy that I finally visited them! But in a safer way!!. Then I started video calling with my friends and we each told our experience of the lock-down!.

Then I started Camp Google!!, if you guys don’t know my experience on Camp Google then read my story on that too and don’t forget to clap for it if you like it ;p.

Soon, my dance class decided to start classes for us and again they texted a long message saying they’d start it and certain rules that we had to follow during the class. Well, it was all the same for me, except the environment was different(online) ;p, but on the other hand, there are a few disadvantages too, like lag in the audio, delay in the video…etc. So, it wasn’t as enjoyable as it used to be before.

With that, I resumed all my other hobbies such as music, chess..etc. Even life started to become the same and again except for the change in the environment.

My school started going faster and faster like a bullet train with our lessons and though it wasn’t as hectic as it used to be before, we had to write the same amount of notes everyday ;p, so technically we also had to study the same amount. ;p.

Let’s see the brighter side of staying at home and doing all of this together ;p ;p. I started to brighten my drawing skills by drawing some cartoon characters. Not only that but, I auditioned for some online competitions and represented my school but didn’t win in anything ;(. But they say, we take part in activities/competitions for the sake of experience and not for winning and that’s the basic reason why we all have the long faces ;p, when we don’t win.

Lately, I also started writing some stories and this is one of them too. Well, I have read the series ‘Harry Potter’ and it turned out to be the best stories I have read!. I liked it so much that when the lock-down started, I started reading the books like a bullet train and finished it in about 4–5 months!. It also gave me some ideas to write my stories!.

So, technically I finish a book of at least 130–150 pages in two days!. Sounds really fascinating right? and it does tell you guys that I’m a bookworm!! ;p and if you guys are wanting to read a big series of books, you guys can read this series(‘Harry Potter’)

Finally I did learn something interesting which is…, coding or computer programming, well you see, computer programming has become the new trend of learning! And if you guys didn’t know even the website in which you guys are reading is also created using code!! ;p. If you guys want to know more about computer programming, then you guys can read my story on computer programming which is coming soon!.

Let’s move on to the food counter!. Does you mouth water?, well mine does ;p. So, I’ve improved my appetite from the beginning of the lockdown and put on more weight and grew taller, i.e, 2 inches in 6 months!!. Cool thing right!!!. YEP!!.

My vocabulary has certainly improved and we are enjoying the lock-down after saying it will be very boring since we can’t go out to enjoy our vacations with family and friends ;p. Now, we know that staying home everyday and not going out regularly isn’t as bad as we thought! ;p.

I never stop reading!!, in the lock-down, I’ve finished 2 series of books namely ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Judy Moody’ and I’m reading a series which is ‘The Diary of a Wimpy kid’. They’re really nice and you guys must read any one of these series!!.
